During a discussion about his upcoming album ‘Duets2,’ which is set to drop on September 20th, Tony Bennett described John Mayer as “very talented” and a “great blues singer.”
Now. While I would have probably gone with something slightly more on target such as: “most talented guitar player to ever strum a chord” or “most ultimate, sexy voiced blues singer that ever lived”
…
Coming from the legend that is Tony Bennett that is very high praise indeed.
On the album, John and Tony sing the classic song ‘One For My Baby (And One More For the Road).’
John will also be performing live at Staples Center on September 24 as part of Tony Bennett’s Benefit To End Hunger / Birthday Bash.
Unfortunately, though I’ve seen snippets of Tony singing with Lady Gaga and Mariah Carey posted online, so far I am still sadly longing for a Tony+John sneak peak.

mm, such good music (:
Love that picture of John, his father and Mr. Bennett. That was from their 80/30 birthday party.

Love the song even more. It’s one of my favorite classic jazz songs. The perfect song for a duet including Mr. John Mayer [in my Elmo voice]
So in love with that man…how will I ever learn to love a commoner?
It will be nice to see JM on stage again.
