John Mayer debuted his new sin­gle “Who Says” live on The Scott and Todd Show (99.5 FM — PLJ.COM) this morning.

Hee­hee!! Any­one who fol­lows John on twit­ter knows he is a bit of a night owl…so know­ing how tired he must be at 7:45 in the morn­ing makes lis­ten­ing to him do these types of inter­views all that much more fun.

So imag­ine my sur­prise when John came on the air sound­ing not only awake, but bor­der­line peppy!!

No sur­prise at all, he was also funny as heck.

After mak­ing a few jokes about John’s tweet­ing habits (boo!!!) the DJ’s asked him sev­eral ques­tions about his upcom­ing record “Bat­tle Stud­ies.”

In regards to why he chose “Who Says” to be his first sin­gle, John said he wanted a song that “sort of puts its arms around you” ver­sus slam­ming you down on the ground.

(Which I think is exactly what it does.)

John then described his expe­ri­ence work­ing with Tay­lor Swift on the song “Half Of My Heart” (also from Bat­tle Studies).

He expressed his respect for Tay­lor and likened her to an “angel” a “pixie.”

Nor­mally, I would go on to tell you about how won­der­fully SEXY and HOT and AMAZING

…my sweet baby doll was.

But I’m a bit of a night owl myself.

So I do believe…
